bastids I can't believe they would drop one so close to another (Foxboro, MA). Maybe it will be a small one. Some of Cabela's stores are smaller. I think the one in Hazelwood, MO is part of a mall. Eh, should be interesting though.

Looking at the link, the BP in Waterbury is a stretch at "maybe." I could see down towards Fairfield somewhere. Probably wishful thinking for some in Western CT.

I know they're doing some building in that area now, it's right around the corner from my house. I know it might be a dream, but it sure would be awesome(sorry ProT.) But Cabelas is better for clothing and camping gear.

For some good fishing stuff I go to Dick's Sporting Goods. Pretty good selection, OK prices.

I have also heard that BPS is looking to open in Enfield CT.

Dick's was in my reply that was attacked by gremlins.

If you hit it right you can get some great deals at Dick's and they do have a pretty good selection.

Dick's sometimes throws some stuff in clearance bins at ridiculous prices. I picked up a St. C Mojo Bass Rod and a Shimano Citica reel for under $85. There were several cheap rods reduced to $19.97 and a St. Croix. Though it had to be a mistake, but nope. Just have to be persistent in checking.

Well definetly not a redneck LOL, but a BPS close to home would be sweet no matter how you look at it. We go to Dicks all the time, good store, but not much selection, but good prices on what they have. We spend most of our fishing time on the hunt for largies and smallies so BPS is better for us.

I spread my cash around. I buy from the big box stores to the small shops. I buy a lot from Ebay too. There is a rumor floating around y neck of the woods, that Bass Pro wants to build a store at the old Plainfield dog track in Plainfield Ct. Only 20 minutes away from the Casino's, and less than ten from me!!!!!! Before I switched jobs, I worked down the street from Bass Pro in Foxboro, so I was there quite frequently. I like there selection much better than Cabelas, but on some items Cabelas can be cheaper. Walmart and Dicks is ok depending on it's location, especially Walmart. Some stores have a very small isle, and others have a huge one. I would like to though out a plug for Benny's! They have an impressive selection for a rinky-dink hardwere store. Bob's place in Danielson were I get my live/frozen bait, except for my squid. I get that at Big Y. I can get a good sized box of squid there for cheaper than bait stores. Only thing is the squid sizes are smaller. As for my fly tying, I get most from ebay or a small fly shop in RI.

one of the most confusing things about walmart is they have no idea what they have and what to do with it. For example, i picked up three sets of yum money minnows, and there was not a weighted hook in the store to use with them. The larger two boxes i had to special order owner 10/0 weighted beast hooks. Why in the world do they even try and stock something like that. There are some good deals there, but the people who run that department are clueless!!!! The store in oceanside ca where my parents live is much better, and each store is very different.
