Pentucket Pond Description

This 86 acre pond has a maximum depth of 26 feet and an average depth of 15 feet (not including the huge marsh that accounts for the entire northern half of the lake). Car top boat and canoes can be launched at an informal dirt ramp located on the east side of the pond and accessible through the Georgetown Rod and Gun Club. Shoreline access and parking is available off Lake Avenue on the southeastern end of the pond. Fish Populations: This pond is stocked every spring with rainbow trout, and sometimes browns and brookies. Warmwater fish species include largemouth bass, chain pickerel, brown bullhead, pumpkinseed, bluegill, black crappie and alewife.

This is a good trout pond in the spring when fishing pressure ranges from moderate too heavy. The warm water fishery should not be overlooked, however, as the alewife population and relatively deep water sustains a healthy population of largemouth bass. While trophy size fish are rarely encountered, respectable bass and pickerel are relatively common and can provide some good fishing in addition to the ever-popular trout.
