Went to Pickerel lake today from 9am to 1pm. Started out in the cove near the boat launch with no bites. Started moving across past the point into the other cove and got a bite on a 1/4 ounce white spinnerbait. Kept moving into the cove and saw another guy slam two in five minutes on a big blue/black jig and a blue chatterbait. I didn't get anything so I moved to the other end of the lake and had a pickerel chase a blue/black swim jig and nothing for another hour. Moved back to the cove near the boat launch and got a 15" pickerel on a 3/8 ounce white spinner bait. Not bad for this time of year and not really knowing what I was doing.
Weather: bluebird skies
Wind: coming in from the south 10mph+
water clarity: 4 feet, stained
Water temp: cold
Lures: blue black swimjig, green pumpkin football jig, jerkbaits, white spinner baits.
Fish was caught in 6 fow.
Planning on going to Red Cedar tommorow. |
