Ok thanks, any other good shore spots in that area that you know of?

Hila, you listed Pocotopaug on your "to see" list this weekend. A bit far from Bristol, eh? Anyway, I live on Pocotopaug. It is a decent spot for Smallmouth bass, but Largemouth bass are few and far between. Walleye has been a focus for several years now and is a prime target even though the town hasn't stocked any for the past 2 or so seasons. The other species of note is White perch. They're everwhere. They are the reason the Walleye was introduced, but I haven't seen an impact.

Lake Pocotopaug does not have public access. You need to be a town resident to access the launch over at Sears Park (on western shore). You can't even find shore fishing since the entire shore is owned and developed.

Visit the town and grab a meal at the Lakehouse. You have a good view of the lake from the resturaunt. You can "take a lap" as well. Turn off Rt 66 onto Lake Drive. You'll pass Sears Park on right. You'll see Lakehouse on left. Lake on right. The second right-hand turn is Lake Road. Take the turn and at the end you'll be back on 66.

Yes Pocotopaug is a bit of a haul to Bristol, but it's within the milage and time we've allotted for a work commute. It's one of the farther commutes, but if we want to be waterfront or water community, then sometimes you have to tough it out. Thanks much for the info on Lakehouse and directions around the lake. We'll do the "lap on Saturday house searching. Not a good population of Largies, but decent smallies huh? Never fished for walleyes, not a lot of them here in north central Mass. Thanks again
