The Maiden Voyage

Went out for a paddle on the new kayak today, good launch at School St.,water temp.45 degrees, didn't expect to catch much, went more for the paddle practice and get familiar with the yak.Really ended up enjoying myself, paddled up the Hockanum River from Union Pond, caught a little, wild brown trout, had another fish get off in the pond, never saw what it was,not bad for just under 3 hours and not really even concentrating on fishing.Felt really good to just wet a line and be on the water. And just so every one knows, trout fishing open all year on the Hockanum River, don't need anyone getting mad at me,it is catch and release but the little guy inhaled the tiny crankbait and despite my best efforts to revive him,he went straight to the bottom.Felt kind of bad about it, but what can you do?
