Spot Pond

have fished Spot Pond a few times over the past month. Have caught two nice largemouth bass, one was approx. 13" the other approx 14" using a Rapala floater and a buzzbait. Fished right around Straw Point in the evening. Water is clear so you can actually see the fish. Have fished in the morning at Spot Pond but have never even gotten a bite. There isn't a lot of structure on the bottom, mostly rocks. There is a nice ledge that runs along the north and west sides where the Bass seem to like. The ledge goes out about 15-20 feet and then drops offs to about 8-10 feet deep. Not a lot of overhanging trees or lily pads either. Clear water and have found that chartreuse and brighter colors tend to work best.

Comments

  • That's good info. I've never gotten a bite in the morning there, either. I'll try an evening run sometime.
