| Hey everyone I am new here and wondering where there is safe ice within an hour of Hartford. I am picking up my buddy tomorrow at 5 and we are trying to hit some ice for the morning and early afternoon. Any help would be great. |

| Spent Friday morning on a small pond connected to the back side of Black Pond in Middletown. Ice was 4.5" - 5" thick. Flags hitting all morning. Many bass 10" - 16". A few pickeral, one nice perch and one Calico. First time ice fishing. Great time. Going back out Sunday. I heard people were out on the main section of Black Pond hitting trout & bass. |
