I've heard Pachaug and Hopeville ponds both have pike, but haven't caught any yet. However, in Lake Lillinonah, icasillas (Izzy) caught some weird lookin' smallmouths back in August. I received an e-mail today from the DEP guy:

Paul,

None of the other staff were familiar with any pathogens that would cause the scarring/deformities observed on those fish. It almost appears that they were damaged somehow and healed. Have you or anyone else caught any additional fish like this? There’s been at least 8 bass tournaments on Lake Lillinonah since the end of August, and none of them have reported catching fish with similar injuries. Unless you continue to catch fish like that (in which case, please report these catches to us), there’s nothing additional that you need to do.

Thank you,
