I am sorry as this, I am sure is a stupid question, (I did try to search first) but my baitfish level is, well, right on the money ( this is my first year fishing since I was about 10)
I just got a new abu Garcia mid quality reel (i did not like the limited drag options on the cheep reel I had). It has both an aluminum as well as graphite spool, I am using and ultra light style set up.....which spool should I use ?

Does it matter, is one better for a certain type of set up or is it a "to each there own sort of thing?"

I find that the aluminum one that it comes with works best, but I use the graphite as a backup. I feel that the graphite is a bit lighter thats all
as for reels I really suggest a shimano reel, they range from 40 to200 dollas I have a 79.00 4000 sahara and I caught all my keeper stripers on it
