Hello there from a fish out of water

Hi all.
New to your state and country. I am in Enfield(for a few months till we move to Stamford anyway). Got a lisence last week and am going to try Scantic river this afternoon. Does anybody have any advice?I will be fishing from bank.

Hey Josh, Welcome to the USA.

Can't be much help regarding the Scantic, don't really fish it myself.

You have to give these slow pokes on here more than a couple hours to respond though Laughing

Well...I just finished eating a yummy 13" rainbow trout that I caught in the Scantic river,just below Old Mill pond. Must say I am a little at odds with myself though. I was raised in South Africa,by my grandfather,to never catch trout with anything but on the fly. I used nightcrawler,so I wont tell him about this one..Still tasted so good.

Congrats Josh, visit a book store like Barnes and Noble and you will find many books about fishing in CT and beyond.
