As this is being written the DEP is in the middle of its annual shacking project on the Farmington River. The MDC dropped the river to under 200 cfm for the two day shocking program. In recent years the shocking studies have showed that the river has a very good holdover rate, with many trophy browns discovered. The DEP usually provides photso on their website of some of the fish measured during the shocking study. In addition, next week the DEP is to start their fall stocking program on the river. Thses fresh fish help to revitialize the river and provide excellent fall sport.
