Stamford (AP) - A Stamford man has completed a nearly 3,000-mile trek across the Atlantic Ocean in a rowboat.

Twenty-five-year-old Paul Ridley had written a daily blog on his row for charity since leaving the Canary Islands on New Year's Day.

On Sunday afternoon he posted word, on day 88, that he had landed safely in Antigua in the Caribbean. He wrote "the row has been completed."

According to the Web Site " Row for Hope ," Ridley's trip was undertaken to raise money for cancer research in memory of his mother who died of skin cancer in 2001.
Ridley began the journey in his 19-foot boat, Liv, with the plan to row 10 to 12 hours a day.
