Blackfish time

Hit the Groton area yesterday in my boat with a friend, had our limit with 3 bonus seabass, largest blackfish was 20".
Caught plenty of shorts that kept us busy. Condition became nautical on the way back in.

Looks like a successful day out. What did you use to catch those bad boys?

We used a simple 4/0 octopus hook with 1/2 a green crab and 4oz of lead, bottom rig. I have had great success using tog jigs in the past but haven't gotten into it this season just yet. Hope to be out tomorrow and Saturday again, maybe I will give the jigs a shot but hate to change when I am catching just fine on a bottom rig.

Stick with what works until it doesn't anymore. Tight lines today and Saturday.
