gardner lake Fishing Report

Half Day On Gardner Lake.

Tried to get to the lake at first light, but the sun keeps comming up earlier. I made it by 6:30 ish, and was fishing by 7. Did not manage a waleye, dont know if i ever will, but we had SMB, LMB, pickeral, and one 18" RAINBOW TROUT, in the boat. The first rainbow i have seen come in this year. The morning was very calm but the wind picked up a lot arond 11:30. It also was cold when we first hit the water but was in a T by the time we left. Dont know how much longer this will be a good lake, when all the powerboats and ski's show up, its a real pain.

Bait Type: Roundhead Jig Check Prices
Bait Details: fish was laying in the shallows and i bounced the jig off its face a few times and got a reaction strike. Found the fish was blind in one eye when i got it in the boat.
Location Details: lake is very sallow down in the cove. Tons of nests in the north part of the lake.
