Wordens Pond 9-20-14

Took the canoe out on the pond for the first time. Overall not a bad place. Better than expected. Worked the grass beds with a zoom fluke, wacky rigged senko, carolina rigged lizard, and a buzz bait. 6 fish caught with my partner's biggest of the day weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz.

  • That pond is relatively shallow. We were fishing 3-5 feet of water. The most success was to the west of the boat ramp near the grass beds.

This time of year I would typically be looking for drop offs but in looking at the topographical map of this pond I noticed that it does not get deep at all. With that said I stuck to grass beds in search of fish on the hunt. For my first trip there not bad. I will definitely be looking to go back. Really liked what I saw.
