Comment: Western shore is private property, so you can't access from shore. I'm usually in my yak, but will occasionally break out the canoe once in a while. Boat access at the ramp, but electric only.

Comment: How do you actually get over to the lily pads? Is it boat/kayak/canoe only? or is there a trail?

Comment: I was also on BP Saturday between 10&2 or 3PM. Next time you are there, try about fifty feet off the edge of the west lilly pads. Heavily weeded in the 6-8 foot deep area, but drops off to 16 feet. I have good luck using watermelon w/red&black flecks at the drop off. Good place to try if they are not hitting topwaters in the pads.

Comment: First time on BP Sat. 8/7. East shoreline gets hammered by mid-summer. Had a perch and a buch of sunnies along the rockslide. Unfortunately, the bottom is too weed choked in the deeper drop off to troll a little cleo for deep trout. Missed a small bass at the top in the pads. The place to fish is through the pads to the west up towards the dam. Lost a second and much nicer bass up there as I didn't have enough to horse him out of the lillies. May go back next week and just fish that section with frogs and my heavier bass setups.

Comment: Fish here quite often. Largest bass was 6 lbs 4 ounces. Most success fishing lilly pads on west side.

Comment: Very convenient location off Rt. 66, not far from Rt91. I've never caught anything big here, but I'll keep trying. Also, can be fished from shore on the East side of the pond.

Comment: If you live in the middletown/meriden area, this is a great place to stop on the way home from work...right off the highway.
