The Shad are stating there run up the river, 5 were caught on Monday and we caught 2 on Thursday in the Farmington at the mouth to Loomus pool. The water was running fast and was pretty dirty. This week end should be peek.

Way to go Basshole! What were you using? It's my understanding that Shad dont feed during their spawn but will strike out of instinct. I only once cought one on a yellow roostertail spinner. I have green and yelly darts but never use them, mayby I should?

Jeep, shad darts seem to be a thing of the past.
The new and improved shad lure of today seems to be a small willow leaf, silver, gold or painted with a drail type lead(1/4 - 3/4oz) 24-36" above the leaf.
Thanks for the report basshole
