My favorite all around adult caddis imitation is the Henryville Special. Of the many similar–looking caddis (sedge) patterns, this one serves to match the hatch for many caddis adults. It matches the profile of the natural insect, floats high and can be skittered without sinking. I tie them in size 14 and 16 which seem to fit the bill for most situations. A size 16 has brought strikes even when the fish are fedding on smaller adults.
