Well its finally here, tomorrow March 14th from 10 to 4 we're having our annual celebration of chasing stripers through the suds.
We have some great speakers lined up;
Steve McKenna will lead off with a how to on fishing the rocks and sands from Pt. Judith to Green Hill. Steve has a lifetime of experience on the RI Shore and is great at communicating his knowledge.
Toby Lapinski follows up with the same information from Charlestown to Napatree, some of the best striper rocks to stand on within a one or two hour drive. Toby grew up on these beaches and has gained respect as one of its best rock hoppers.
Zeno Hromin will wind up the series with an inspirational talk on targeting big bass. Zeno has written two of the finest books on fishing the striper surf and is the one of best speakers on the subject. He'll have you laughing while you learn.
They'll also be reps from Van Staal, Pradco, Aquaskinz, Shimano, Line Stretcher, Tsunami, Lordship Lures and Lunker City. The grill will be fired up and its a great day to hang out with the rest of the surf rats. We're having some sales, specials and great door prizes.
There's plenty of parking at the former Chrysler dealer about 150 yards to the east of us.

On the fishing front, there's some small schoolies around Hamburg Cove and some of the local marinas. The Thames is also in the action with schoolies and a bit bigger still concentrated in Norwich Harbor, but they should be spreading out soon.
