Saturday I took Bobct out for some big bass fishing. We were on the breakwater before sunup. Tossing poppers and sluggos. Not one swirl. Headed to the hogs pen and got the same results. Went inside to the river to a couple of spots I know and again nothing. This had never happened before, so we went back outside to look for birds. Spent the morning trolling and chaseing birds and the blues just wouldn't stay put more than a min. I got a small blue at 9:30 and at 10:30 Bob got a nice 8lber., but no stripers. Headed back in at 12 for a cookout at the ramp with a few other guys that we had a side bet with. Only one striper caught and it was in 4-6ft of water. Would only take a diamond jig, tipped with a sandworm. He saw many fish, but only the one would bite. Still a great day on the water for an October day. Looks like the old saying, should have been here last week.

I know the "should of been here the other day" thing very well.
