thanks for the tips guys.

last weekend i spooled the rest of the line (trilene transoptic 8lb) and it worked great! the reel i got (a shimano sonora) is orange and ironically this line turns bright ...

i live on the beach in milford and i got a big ol Okuma surf pole....but ive only taken it out once. it was hard to cast and i sure didnt get anything.

so, what kind of bait to use near shore and h ...

Two words will solve your problem...."Power Pro"...After casting flip the bail with your hand, not by reeling in, and your good to go. Line will last for years with minimal problems..

Also, make sure the line comes off the store spool in the same direction it is going on the reel spool. If the bail spins CW it should come off the store spool CW.

Im not familiar with the line in question but it sounds like you either were twisting the line somehow while installing or you were removing it incorrectly from the spool it came on.
