Yes they bite even in the winter but very hard to find them. Now they are starting to bite more since the weather is warming up.
Try the Northwest end of a pond. That is where the sun warms the pon ... |

Reasurse has fond that corn doesn't hurt the fish not even trout. In Rhode Island it is illegal to use corn. So I know people who use chick peas instead and it work just fine.
