Just South of PA Route 104 near the Snyder Juniata county line. There is a ball park and a covered bridge. Watch out for buggies!
I had just returned to Central PA and thought I would cast a line in this fine looking stream.

I caught one small brown. Later, I caught a 21 inch very fat brown weighing about 2 pounds-I was amazed as the home I have rented is less than a mile from yhis spot in Oriental.

this stream is a very small native brook trout fishery and tributary to Kinzua Creek. It is located East of Westline, PA.
We camp right by the stream-it is mostly federal land, and free to campers.
The first tend to be small, but plentiful and aggressive.
I took my son here on June 5-7 after his high school graduation.

There is a beaver pond downstream which holds larger brookies. A 16 incher is a big fish in this stream.

Amazing wild stretch of water close to Harrisburg, PA. It is located just North of the town of Dauphin right off US 322 West o Harrisburg. The stream is the water that flows out of the Dehart dam, which is the city of Harrisburgs water supply. The stream is accessable via route 225. Much is private, but the state gamelands parking areas grant access and it is possible at points to park along the road and hike in-heavily wooded. Large population of wild brown trout and many wild brook up to 1 pounds. I was quite surprised as to fish number, size and qualiy, with virtually no fishing pressure. Fly fishing only area above, great dry fly summer-supurb early season bait fishing below.
Left with 4 fish (fryers). This is my son's favorite spot! TRULY UNDERRATED!
