Took my niece fishing yesterday for a few hours. Along with some white perch, yellow perch and bass she caught 2, 5 to six inch stripers! Although I'm not schooled on it, I am aware that there is some sort of debate as to whether bass spawn in the river or not. Well unhooking and releasing those little guys is proof enough for me. My guess is that they were born last year right here in our river! Wish I had a camera with me,pretty cool to see the miniature version of my favorite sportfish. |

| I've also concluded that they certainly do spawn in Connecticut, although not in any great number. Several years ago I brought 2, 5-inchers through the ice at a marina in S. Glastonbury. I caught two big Northerns that day, but those stripers took the cake in my eyes. |
