Got out early yeaterday morning on a friends boat. We worked the rock piles at the mouth of the Pawcatuck River for some schoolies to 27 inches. Tried closer to Sandy Point with only one fish showing any interest. We saw birds working off the outer Stonington breakwater. Upon arriving we found surface feeding stripers. For the next hour we caught seven fish between us ranging from 24 to 33 inches. The fly dejour was a grey/white flat wing deceiver. One of the fish spit up a couple of squid, but we didnot have any squid imitations in our boxes.
