Hey all, I have a stupid question about inflatables.

I ordered a Red Star Marine Navigator 3 inflatable boat from Cabela's, and I am confused on registering. If I put a trolling motor on it, I have to register, correct? And also, do I need the dang boater class and permits and everything?

I thought it would be easy to just buy an inflatable to drop in the river or the pond to fish out of, but all these regulations up here are killing me! lol.

Thanks for the help

yep, unfortunately if you put a motor on it,you gotta register it and get the boaters card. That's my understanding anyway.

Carp is right. I was looking at inflatables and realized too much trouble to row. Once I found out that ANY motor requires registration and boaters cert., I chose to go with kayak.

Thanks for the info, guys. The inflatable is on its way already, so I guess I will see how it goes without a motor. I am definitely seeing a kayak in my future though......
