Guys,

I'm thinking about going ice fishing this weekend for the first time in a long time - since i was about 14 . How are the conditions for this weekend? With the past couple days of warm weather do you think the ice is still thick enough? I am thinking about heading to Wethersfield Cove. Any tips/pointers/advice for a newbie is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave O

The shoreline ponds still have about 6" of good ice, alittle wet on the surface. I'm going to Chatfield Hollow today and try for some panfish.

Dave you will be all set...not going to lose much ice. If you go to the cove it will be packed with people, the only area that may be tricky is the edge because of the tide effect. You never know what you might catch at the cove. I always like to fish to the left side looking out from the parking lot or out in front of that boat house which is directly across on the left. Good luck if you get out...and expect to see a report Wink
