Went to Salmon River yesterday for a few hours at the fly fishing section and only caught two trout. One was a 12 inch brown trout on a olive wooly bugger, but the other one was a 22.5 inch 6+ pound rainbow Very Happy . I caught her on a olive beadhead hares ear nymph. I saw the strike indicator make a u- turn while it was drifting down in front of me and I set the hook and all hell broke lose. It took about 15 mins to get her in. It was like trying to put a sheet of plywood in sideways in the current.I caught her on a 7.5 foot 3 weight flyrod.on a 4 pound leader. What a rush. Going back saturday for a few more hours, will post if anything good happens.

Nice!! I am not a flier YET, but I go with regular tackle south of where you were (I believe) .... how is the human population there? Is it still standing room only, or has the crowd thinned abit?

I have not been yet for that exact reason. Nice fish though, congrats!
