Just updated location for North Farms Reservoir in Wallingford to include Carp for available species.
I was out in my kayak fishing for bass when very large carp started jumping clear out of the water as close as 20 feet from me. They were in the lily pads on the east side. I was in this area for about an hour and must have seen at least 30 jumps. Pretty wild. Think I might get some bait and rig for them the next time weather permits. They were easily big enough to take the yak for a ride.

Carp fishing has become quite popular in the past 10 years or so.
I remember as a kid they were always by-catch when caught, most fisherman in those days took home their catch and made a meal out of it, and carp were not on the menu.

Some fishing sites now are strictly carp oriented.

It appears to me it's for the angler that does not like to harvest fish to eat, and wants a large decent fighting fish out of sweetwater

Good luck if you go back after them Mac
