I only bought it, well just cause I wanted one. Seemed like neat toy. I have used it though the ice once, and it did work well, just depends on the water quality. I didn't really have any plans for using on the yak. I will however try it off what ever boat I end up with in the spring/summer. Not sure what or if I'll see anything in the sound, but we'll give it a whirl! I knew from the start that it would only work if the water is clear, so that is why I bought a used one and not a $300 or $400 new one. If I get to use it a few times a year, for the price I paid, I'll be happy.
As far as ice fishing, the tripod should work the best. With a rubber stopper, I can set it to the depth and turn it to aim were I want it to be. |
