Don't chum too much. Carp are warm water fish, they eat for energy and in cold water they become sluggish, thusly not eating anywhere near what they do in warm water. It is very possible to overfeed and kill your chances of catching.
If you use flavors, use alcohol based ones like the ones in the baking isle in the grocer, do not use oil based as the cold water will just congeal the oil instead of letting it spread out.
It is very possible though, but be warned it is not like fishing em in the warm months, the wait is usually longer and the fight is much much less rewarding imo. |
