Ice fishing derby slated at pond in Litchfield

The Ousatonic Fish and Game Protective Association will hold an ice fishing derby Jan. 18 at Mount Tom State Park pond.

Registration begins at 7 a.m., and the derby will be held 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Entry fee is $25 at the event, or $15 if paid before Thursday.

Mail checks payable to Ousatonic Fish and Game Protective Association Inc. to P.O. Box 2333, New Preston.

There will be a tagged fish worth $1,500. Prizes will also be awarded for the largest trout, bass and pickerel.

A game lunch is included with the entry fee.
