DEP ANNUAL FAMILY ICE FISHING DERBY January 30

8 am to 11 am at the Lodge & Senior Center at Patriot’s Park on Coventry Lake (Lake Wangumbaug), Lake Street, Coventry. Spend a morning outdoors in the fresh air with family and friends, having fun and for those new to ice fishing, getting an introduction to the sport. DEP ANNUAL FAMILY ICE FISHING DERBY CANCELLED January 30

CANCELLED DUE TO POOR ICE CONDITIONS. The several inches of rain that just fell impacted ice cover, with open water appearing along the shore line as lake level rose, floating the ice up and away from shore.

If ice conditions improve, ice fishing will be one of the scheduled activities at the 2010 No Child Left Inside-Winter Festival at Burr Pond State Park. visit the DEP web site (www.ct.gov/dep) and click on the No Child Left Inside icon for more information.
