Family Ice Fishing Derby

Lake Wangumbaug (Coventry Lake)

Patriot’s Park Community Center, Lake Street, Coventry

· Free ~ No Charge

· Hands-on introduction to the sport of Ice Fishing

· Certified DEP Fisheries instructors to assist

· Ice Fishing equipment and bait available for use

· Warm-up lodge with coffee, donuts and hot chocolate

· Children and adults are invited to join the fun

· Prizes for children 15 years old and under

· Fishing License required for those 16 yrs. and older, including parents

· Dress for cold weather. Winter coat, hat, gloves, warm socks and waterproof boots. Sneakers are not recommended

· Bring your skates, sleds, footballs, family and friends for a fun filled morning of ice fishing.

- Turn right onto RT 31 south (Main St.),
go 4 miles
- Turn right onto Lake St. from RT 31 (Main St.)
- Patriot’s Park is ~ 500yds. on right

From Willimantic:
- At US 6/RT 32 (Stafford Rd.),
go 1.5 miles NW on RT 32
- Turn left onto RT 31 N (Main St.,
Higgins Hwy), go 3 miles
- Turn left onto Lake St. from RT 31 (Main St.)
- Patriot’s Park is ~ 500yds. on right
