I drove by a pond by my house to see people out on the pond drilling holes. i was just wondering if anyone went out yet, and how thick the ice was?

A lot of people have been out, I myself have not....depends what part of the state your in for ice thickness. This cold snap should get things rolling again

Around here, all the larger pond/lakes are open water, some of the small ponds have a thin layer. Probably wont get out till the new year anyway!

That rain brought 4" down to 1.5 in the NW corner. But with the temps like this anything locked up should be good to go in a couple more days. Use a spud and carry spikes if you go .

went out about 100 feet today and drilled a couple holes and got 3.5 inches of black ice in each hole.
