Reliable sources report False Albacore off the eastern end of Fishers Island. Yesterday several large schools of the speedy fish spent the morning feasting on schools of butterfish and peanut bunker near Wicopessett Island off the eastern tip of Fishers. Other schools were sighted along the south side of Fishers island as well.
Fly anglers hooked up using white estaz wooly buggers and silver bozo hair butterfish patterns.
The fish ranges from 6 to 9 pounds that were landed. Larger specimens were sighted.
