Fishing For Smalies And I Land A Big Pike

I picked up my buddy Dunt around 6 this morning and headed to the Mighty Merrimack. We launched out of Lawrence and started fishing the left side of the river right after the no wake zone. Bagged a couple of small Sallies on a KVD sexy shad 1.5 right away. Fished that back for about a half an hour and then decided to go up river as far as we could. We got to an area that looked kind of shallow so we turned around and started fishing. We caught a bunch of little smallies which are fun but not quite what we were looking for. The biggest one we caught was probably only a pond and a half, The surprise of the day was a giant pike. It was caught on a KVD 1.5 chartruese with a black back. What an awesome fight. My adrenaline was pumping!!!
