connecticut river Fishing Report

Back In Ct For A Quick River Float

I moved to Los Angeles 5 years ago and haven't been able to fish when I've been back in the past. I got back in the yak in what feels like forever, with just my rod and one lure. I didn't really expect to catch anything with the river so shallow and it being midday. Could see some dink smallies long the banks and cast to any structure in the shade. One smallie put up a nice little fight, under 12 inches. on the way back I found a nice big downed tree in the shade and a couple casts later I had a nice little 2 ft pike dragging line. Was fun to get back out on the river, living in LA there aren't nearly as many lakes or rivers to fish.
