This location is a public access area. Go across the bridge and it will be an imediate left when heading out of town. Good shore access, and most of the river on the side where the parking is shallow enough to wade most of it. I was waste deep most of the river to the mid point. The water is stained so brighter lures will work the best.
I have been here only onece, and the smallmouth bite was decent. The biggest fish of the day gave me a head shake and swam away. I did not get a good look at it but most likely was a 1-2 lb smallmouth, condiering that all i caught this day. Biggest one i landed was right around a pound. The one i lost came out of the pool below the dam where the water is moving slower. There also looks to be an easy way to port around the dam on the same side if your planning a cannoe trip.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a location with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first location has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second location, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
